Gyeonggi Province is home to 30% (370,000) of South Korea's startups, is striving to go beyond its title as the number one region for start-ups in the country to creating a ‘Start-up Paradise.’ By 2026, Gyeonggi Province plans to create 660,000 square meters (200,000 square feet) of space for start-ups centering on Pangyo Techno Valley and foster 3,000 venture start-ups (budding companies). As a true center of innovation hosting Pangyo Techno Valley and other centers, Gyeonggi Province possesses the necessary advanced technology and infrastructure and is building a start-up ecosystem with abundant start-up talent and investors. Gyeonggi Province is striving to create an environment where anyone can start a business and receive funding.

Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) has been supporting SMEs throughout their growth process, from start-up to their global expansion. In particular, GBSA is working to create a startup ecosystem, foster startups in the deep tech sector, and promote globalization. GBSA also helps start-ups move to Korea through the Pangyo+20 program, fosters entrepreneurial talent by operating the Gyeonggi Start-up Opportunities School, and helps attract investment through the creation of startup funds. In addition, GBSA helps start-ups in the deep tech sector enter the global market by discovering and nurturing them and supporting their overseas expansion.
South Summit is the largest startup fair in Southern Europe. Launched in Spain in 2012, South Summit has a decade of cumulative investments exceeding 13 billion US$ and launched more than 7 unicorns (privately held companies with a market value of more than 1 billion US$).
