Gyeonggi Business and Science Accelerator begins recruiting startups attending the 2024 SOUTH SUMMIT KOREA
The Gyeonggi
Business and Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced today that it is inviting
startups to participate in the 2024 SOUTH SUMMIT KOREA, which will be held from
September 25-27 at the Suwon Convention Center (Gwanggyo) and Startup Campus
(Pangyo).
The event, hosted
by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and co-organized by the Gyeonggi Business
and Science Accelerator (GBSA) and Spain's SOUTH SUMMIT, is Asia's first
international event focused on artificial intelligence (AI) startups. It is
designed to help the local startup market expand globally.
Launched in 2012,
SOUTH SUMMIT is the largest startup fair in Southern Europe that has attracted
about KRW 13 trillion in investment and produced more than 7 unicorn companies
in the past 10 years.
The collaboration
with Spain's SOUTH SUMMIT, an internationally recognized startup platform, is
expected to provide a bridgehead for Korean startups to enter the European
market.
The 2024 SOUTH
SUMMIT KOREA, which will be held for the first time in Asia this September,
will focus on future strategic industries centered on AI and deep tech, and
will attract more than 20,000 startups, businesses and investors from home and
abroad.
The summit will
feature open innovation from global giants, VC meetups, AI-related conferences,
startup IR pitches, and exhibitions. This will provide a platform for
interaction and local market information for companies and investors interested
in expanding into Europe.
AI and deep-tech
startups (corporations or sole proprietorships) launched in the past 7 years
who wish to participate in the on-site summit can apply through the 2024 SOUTH
SUMMIT KOREA website until the 14th of next month.
Participating
companies will be provided with exhibition booths, including fixtures required
for booth operation such as plasma display panels (PDPs), promotional banners,
furniture, lighting, electricity, and so on all free of charge.
Sung-chun Kang,
chairman of the Gyeonggi Business and Science Accelerator said, “This
summit will help domestic startups expand globally and open up global
networking and investment opportunities for innovative technology companies in
the field of AI.” He further added, ”We hope that promising startups in
Gyeonggi Province will be interested and actively participate in this event.”
Inquiries about
the 2024 SOUTH SUMMIT KOREA can be made through the official website and the
Gyeonggi Startup Planning Team.
